DiscoBrick Doesn’t seem to accept my registration code ....topIf you experience some trouble with registration (the Demo image appears, however the PlugIn is registered) or your Options arent maintained correctly after a startup probably you have a problem with the preference file and/or his permission.
Our first suggestion is: repair the disk permissions, using Apple’s Disk Utility tool ( applications/utilities/Disk Utility), Onyx™, Cocktail™, or any other quality disk management tool. If the problem persists, delete the “DiscoBrick.preferences” file, located in the /Library/Preferences/ folder and retry the registration (you must provide both paypal mail and your personal code again).

How can I use CoverArts, Live Video or Pictures in DiscoBrick themes? ....topYou can customize a theme by replacing various textures present in a theme with your pictures, the current song cover art or live video. It all depends on what you select in the “Texture settings” pop-up menu in the Options panel. The possible setting are:
Default Theme: the engine uses the original textures from the theme;
Cover Art:
The engine uses the current song’s cover arts , if present; in case there’s no cover art, the original theme textures are used.
Pictures:
the engine uses one or a set of images dropped by the user in the area near the menu. This option currently supports only images in JPG or PNG format.

Live Video: the engine uses the live video (from iSight or external firewire sources);
The “Use Max quality” check box determines whether DiscoBrick uses the full-size image (picture, cover-art, livevideo) instead of a scaled version. Quality is better, specially with large displays, BUT performance might be affected on Macs with old videocard or less than 64MB of video RAM. If you notice a loss of performance just uncheck this checkbox.

How can I save a screenshot ....topTo save a screenshot just press the [S] creenshot key: the screen flashes to confirm the save is completed.
Screenshots are saved on your desktop in JPG or PNG format, depending on what format you selected in the Options panel.
-
How do I know my current drawing speed? ....topThe current framerate is displayed by pressing F key (press F key again to hide)
-
What is the “Enable Vertical Sync” checkbox ? ....topVSync Selector
Is recommended to leave disabled this option because without VSync the framerate is maximized and not limited by the monitor frequency.
Enable the Vertical Sync control if you experience annoying horizontal bands. -
How do I raise/lower the drawing speed? ....topJust move the “Framerate” slider in the Options panel, but wait ! Moving it towards “High” simply gives DiscoBrick the permission to hog more and more resources: you get a higher frame rate (i.e. smoother animations) but less CPU and GPU remain available for other tasks (i.e.everything else slows down); If you move it towards “Low”DiscoBrick tries to use a low profile, lowering fhe frame rate. Use this setting on slower computers.
We recommended to leave the slider in the “Standard” position, which amounts to 30 to 40 frames per second -smooth enough, without hogging too much resources on current computers.
For comparison: when the slider is in the “Standard” position, on a standard Core2Duo DiB merely uses up to 10% of the CPU and operates at 40 FPS, if you slide it all the way to “High” the framerate can get up to a blazing, hyper-responsive and totally useless 250+ frames per second, while if you slide it all the way to Low the CPU merely recognizes DiscoBrick as a running process. Only in "Live Video" are required more resources.
Please note that if the “Enable Vertical Sync” checkbox is enabled, no matter how far to the right you move the framerate slider, you can’t get a frame rate higher than the monitor refresh rate - with standard LCD monitors, this means no more than 60 FPS. -
How to Uninstall DiscoBrick ....topIf you have installed DiB with the standard Installer just go to the folder /Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug Ins/ and delete the DiscoBrick Plug-In. If you have the “AppZapper” application, you may drop the DiscoBrick Plug-In on it, and it will also delete the preferences file.
